Filipino TVI Express members, see your American predecessors use the same stupid tactics

Recently, I've highlighted a lot of Filipino TVI Express supporters blindingly offer up bogus defense of TVI Express either here on this blog, or at my "Hubpages" hubs. I have dissected such sorry excuses. [Here] , [here], [ here ], [ here ], [ here ],  [ here ],  and [ here ]

And you foolish Filipino TVI Express defenders are repeating history by being stupid. What you morons are doing is repeating the same things American TVI Express members have claimed against critics. Troy Dooly, who had been on MLM scene for a while, called TVI Express a scam back in 2009, and some guy named John Piro claimed Troy Dooly is full of ****. Here's Troy Dooly's response.

http://mlmhelpdesk.com/mlm-scam-update-john-piro-exposes-troy-doolys-hidden-agenda-at-mlm-help-desk/

Actually, I've highlighted John Piro before. He eventually changed his mind about TVI Express... after almost a year. However, his previous zombie spamticles and zombie spamideos are still getting recycled / revivified by various "SEO" morons out there.

What you say now on the Internet will live on forever, proving you were once a moron, supported a scam.

Imagine your future EMPLOYER finding this out.

Who the Heck is Tom McMurrain and Why Was He Pushing TVI Express?

A website called "Secrets2Business" have an article on TVI Express.

But who wrote it? A guy named Tom McMurrain, who wrote a book "From ExCon to ExCaliber".

Both websites linked are dead. So who the heck is Thomas E. McMurrain? Turns out, he really is an ex-Convict. What did he went to jail for? Running a Ponzi Scheme... just like TVI Express. Here's the report:
THOMAS E. MCMURRAIN, 37, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, pleaded guilty today to four counts of a federal indictment on charges of mail fraud and wire fraud. ...
Between 1997 and the end of October 2000, MCMURRAIN obtained over $9,000,000 from 80 investors. In the end, the vast majority of the investors received only monthly interest payments which totaled $1,600,000 over 1997-2000. MCMURRAIN only paid back about $200,000 in principal. The remaining investors never received their principal back.
MCMURRAIN never disclosed to investors that his pay day loan operations were running at a loss. Nor did he disclose that he was using their monies to invest in any other non-pay day loan operations, including loans totaling $700,000 to other MCMURRAIN's companies, as well as uncollateralized loans to friends and acquaintances without collateral. Additionally, MCMURRAIN did not disclose to lenders that he spent and lost $600,000 of their monies on personal day trading and expended another $700,000 on personal life style purchases.
The United States Attorney's OfficeNorthern District of Georgia
cited from http://www.thepanamanews.com/pn/v_16/issue_10/economy_02.html

Name matches, crime matches, even the self-reference to "Ex-Con" matches. And if you still doubt it, here's the indictment archived on someone else's website

Furthermore, when the scheme unraveled, he ran off the Panama, and had to be extradited. Here's his entry on FraudDigest
On October 12, 2005, Thomas E. McMurrain was sentenced in federal district court in Atlanta, Georgia, to 87 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $7,500,000. McMurrain was convicted of mail fraud and wire fraud related to a loan fraud scheme. McMURRAIN pleaded guilty to the charges on May 12, 2005.
Assuming he started serving the sentence in 2005, and serve half of 87 months for good behavior and early release, half of 87 is still 43 months, or over 3 and a half years... That would make his release in... 2009 or so.

So he immediately joined TVI Express, a very obvious pyramid scheme 8-ball scam...

Guess a leopard really can't change its spots.

Who is Toni Dishman, ex-TVI Express?

Toni Dishman used to be really big on TVI Express. She was one of the hundreds of presidential associates identified. In fact, her name was cited on another TVI Express website:

http://tviexpressbrunei.blogspot.com/2010/06/tvi-express-changes-lives.html

(Which is a dead website, by the way, never updated beyond September 2010)

So what is Toni Dishman doing now? NOT TVI Express, that's for sure. This is her press release:

http://www.free-press-release.com/news-tvi-express-s-final-shake-down-in-the-us-1283978626.html

From which I quote:

Let me take a minute here and give you a little history, I too was a TVI rep. well I guess I still am. I have been involved for about a year and endured some bumps and bruises along the way. Some were TVI's fought but some of the blame must be shared with disenchanted members part of my team. For me as long as TVI had the travel portal they had a real product-regardless of the 7 days, that was a perk. Secondly at least TVI continued to pay however the process became grueling. I am not a great leader of hundreds of thousands but I do understand the FTC and certain laws that control or patrol MLMs and other direct sales. I have to tell you I knew we were on shaking ground when the 7 day vacation was not delivered and our actual travel portal went down and never came back up. Major RED flags for me, but what I find most amazing is these proven leaders that had all the connections, didn't have a worry in the world, REALLY????
So what's she really doing now? Club Seabreeze, a TVI Express clone, at http://freetripsonus.com/

When people who're already on top leaves, what does that mean for the "opportunity"? Clearly it's a deadend!

Who is Adrian Beale and how was he related to TVI Express?

Adrian Beale was once a TVI Express member. On his website, marketingwithadrian.com, he had a page about TVI Express called "TVI Express Power Line". However, he has removed the video (from Youtube) AND mostly removed references on his own website except a few entries here and there.

He is now a Bon Voyage 1000 member. However, he definitely was hot about TVI Express. On another fan site, he was quoted as saying:

Congratulations to all my team in Indonesia with the opening of the latest Support Office in Jakarta Indonesia at the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place on the 20TH May 2010. The Power Line team stretches to all Four Corners of the Globe and we have access to all the Support Offices from UK (London) India (Bangalore) and Now Jakarta Indonesia. We all look forward to our Next $10,000
There were more references of his "team" from many locations.

The fact that he abandoned his lucrative position in TVI Express and moved onto BV1K should tell you how TVI Express is NOT sustainable (or perhaps, not even legal).

Funny Indonesia TVI Express "slogan"

Cover of "Screw It, Let's Do It (Expanded...Cover via AmazonTVI Express Indonesia have a member who opened a Facebook presense called "TVI Express Celebrity". So what sort of slogan do they have?
Bertindak tanpa terlalu banyak
berpikir. Bertindak dengan insting dan intuisi.
Jangan percaya kepada akuntan anda kalau mau memulai bisnis.
Lakukan saja.

And the English translation is...
Acting without too much thinking.
Acting by instinct and intuition.
Do not trust your accountant if you want to start a business.
Just do it.
And who did they claim the quotes came from? Sir Richard Branson.  However, ALL FOUR QUOTES HAVE PROBLEMS.

Sir Richard Branson has a book called "Screw it, let's do it!" Inside, the first chapter is called "Just Do it", but the quote was taken out of context. The chapter in the book actually says if you want to do it, then figure out a way to do it. Learn how to do it. Find a legal way to do it. And so on. Sir Richard Branson never said to jump in blindly and ignore any "due diligence".

Furthermore, all of the other quotes are either wrongful attributions or misquotes. The quote about the accountants? it's actually

I never get the accountants in before I start up a business. It's done on gut feeling, especially if I can see that they are taking the mickey out of the consumer.
There are no quotes by Sir Richard Branson that I can find on the remaining two alleged quotes. Yet they sound a lot like the bull**** I found earlier on TVI Express Indonesia websites where the various TVI Express leaders tell members (who read concerns on websites such as this blog here) to ignore all criticisms and just jump right in when "momentum is good".

Conclusion: TVI Express Indonesia are using celebrity quotes, chopping them, and wrongfully attributing them in order to promote a scam.  Just like TVI Express itself. That's why you don't find Sir Richard Branson mentioned on TVI Express website any more.

Interesting: Solid Trust Pay is a Script-Kiddie Site? (UPDATED: not quite, no longer associated with TVI Express)

Category:WikiProject Cryptography participantsImage via WikipediaAccording to a post on Web of Trust (WOT), Solid Trust Pay, one of the processors used by TVI Express, is actually a packaged script offered by PlxWebDev / PayArk

I compared the "user agreement" and they are virtually identical. Here are the comparisons

From the "demo" site on plxwebdev

Buyer Beware - ePAY Online assumes absolutely no responsibility for any purchases made through the ePAY Online system. At any time you join any Income Opportunity or MLM program, or Matrix Website or purchase a product or service you are doing so at your own risk and that by signing up and joining ePAY Online you do hearby agree in FULL that you release ePAY Online and all its affiliates and officers, employees, members and owners from ANY loss you may incur either by using this service...
And from the SolidTrustPay.com website...
Buyer Beware - SolidTrust Pay assumes absolutely no responsibility for any purchases made or received through the system. At any time you join, or offer, any Income Opportunity or MLM program, or Matrix Website, purchase or offer a product or service, you are doing so at your own risk and that by signing up and joining you do hearby agree in FULL that you release SolidTrust Pay and all its affiliates and officers, employees, members and owners from ANY loss you may incur either by using this service ...
Even the misspelled "hearby" is there, still misspelled.  (It should be "hereby")

Conclusion: SolidTrust Pay is not any more trustworthy than your average PHP website. It has no reputation, nor even a real support team behind it. In fact, does it even have a banking license to hold people's money? Guess that's why STP is based in CANADA instead of the US. However, is that even legal? A "real" payment processor such as VersaPay is partnered with Chase Bank and is certified with Visa/Mastercard. STP displays Visa/Mastercard logo, but it's not linked, and apparently has no actual relationship with any real bank or VISA and Mastercard.

Before you ask, Yes, Paypal *does* have a Banking License in Europe, and is licensed for banking in 28 of the 50 states in the US, and the other states either don't need one or is satisfied with out-of-state banking license.

Even TVI Express' payment processor is shady...

UPDATE 15-JAN-2011 -- unconfirmed comment stated that "Solid Trust Pay" has disassociated with TVI Express since April 2009, and the script was indeed "founded" on plxWebDev scripts. You can see the actual comments below.

UPDATE 01-FEB-2011 -- authenticity of comment was confirmed by STP Support.  See 01-FEB-2011 blog entry.

Funny TVI Express 2011 announcements: clearly it doesn't read the news

Location map of South AfricaSouth Africa -- Image via WikipediaApparently TVI Express itself does not read the news either. In an announcement posted on 08-JAN-2011 it claims it is expanding into South Africa.
...the fresh and bright 2011 is looking forward to unfold its conventional legacy with 4 international launches in its first quarter itself in Philippines, South Africa, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan respectively.
However, keep in mind that

1) TVI Express is already "belly up" in South Africa when Tarun Trikha apparently abandoned all local members to their fate with the authorities, as reported by "New Age" of South Africa.

2) All Bangladeshi members seem to do is spam the Internet.

3) So-called Kazakhstan launch is in the middle of nowhere, not to mention TVI Express is already under investigation in Tajikstan and Georgia, two of its neighbors. Besides, the launch was supposed to have happened back in December 2010. Based on the history of delays from TVI Express (its Indian HQ was delayed almost a year) this may not happen at all.

Guess that leaves the Phillipines. However, given that TVI Express is already illegal in China since July 2009, investigated in India, and so on, how long do you think they will last in the Phillipines?

Rehash: Why is TVI Express a Pyramid Scheme / Money Game?

8-ball pyramid scheme model.Image via WikipediaSome people who enjoyed weasel explanations from their weasel uplines are somehow convinced that TVI Express is NOT a pyramid scheme or money game, as it's known in Asia. Here's explanation why TVI Express IS indeed a pyramid scheme.

First, what is a pyramid scheme? Instead of wiki definition, let's use an actual legal criteria, a court case against a pyramid scheme:
The Federal Trade Commission has established a test for determining what constitutes a pyramid scheme. Such contrivances are characterized by the payment by participants of money to the company in return for which they receive (1) the right to sell a product and (2) the right to receive in return for recruiting other participants into the program rewards which are unrelated to
sale of the product to ultimate users
--US vs. Gold Unlimited, US 6th Circuit Court (1999), as cited from http://openjurist.org/177/f3d/472/united-states-v-gold-unlimited-inc
This definition will be worded different in different countries, but even in Indonesia the meaning is virtually identical:

Interesting Tidbit about TVIExpress.com

TVI Express website is at tviexpress.com but the history of the domain itself is a bit nebulous. Well, wonder no more. That's actually public information, just a bit harder to get to.

Did you know that domain was actually registered in 2008, a full YEAR before TVI Express supposedly "pre-launched" in 2009?

Here are the hosting history of TVIexpress.com:

HosterStats.com: Domain History For tviexpress.com
Old Hoster New Hoster Month / Year Zone Date Transaction
BLOCKDOS.COM BLOCKDOS.NET March 2010 2010-04-01 Transfer
THEPLANET.COM BLOCKDOS.COM November 2009 2009-12-01 Transfer
MEDIATEMPLE.NET THEPLANET.COM June 2009 2009-07-01 Transfer
WORLDNIC.COM MEDIATEMPLE.NET January 2009 2009-02-01 Transfer
N/A
WORLDNIC.COM April 2008 2008-05-01 New

WorldNIC.com is a part of Network Solutions, the biggest network / hosting folks in the world

MediaTmeple.net is a very big (top 30) hosters in the North America based in Los Angeles

ThePlanet.com claims to be largest dedicated server provider in the world.

From there on it's a bit nebulous. BLOCKDOS.COM and BLOCKDOS.NET are the same company... a company dedicated to counter denial-of-service attacks on hosting companies. They don't actually host websites, but they maintain a resistant network of DNS servers that will block DOS attacks.

Who actually hosts the website? Good question. IP address traces to imajhost, a company in Turkey, but the server seems to be in LA area.

So in other words, TVI Express had traded steadily DOWNWARD... from the biggest hoster in the world DOWN to smaller and smaller providers.

Yet in 2009 Tarun Trikha was quoted in member "conference calls" that they are trying to IMPROVE their website reliability by trading UP to better providers. Who's lying?

Mathematical proof that TVI Express is a Scam: TVI Express Shills Using Funny Math in Indonesia

First, I have to admit, I do NOT read Indonesian, so I am going through the website in question using Google Translate. However, it is clear that this member is spreading BULLSHIT all over the place, by claiming 3 is somehow LESS than 1, or something of the sort.

The website in question is tviexpressdollar.com, whose owner had posted various "rebuttals" on the Indonesian web forum kaskus.us against critics of TVI Express. Here's his primary rebuttal:

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=id&u=http://www.tviexpressdollar.com/the-truth-behind-tvi-express-membongkar-kebohongan-kaskuser-terhadap-tvi-express-bagian-pertama/&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%2522TVI%2BExpress%2522%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1B3GGLL_enUS400US400%26tbs%3Dqdr:d%26prmd%3Dvlfd&rurl=translate.google.com&twu=1&usg=ALkJrhja4ZweBxm3GsEINE6vaEVaYtn9Xw

The gist of this webpage is basically as follows: Some folks on kaskus.us forum claim TVI Express is a scam and proved it mathematically that it cannot be sustainable. TVIExpressDollar will prove that TVI Express is sustainable mathematically, thus defeating the scam argument.

This is a strawman argument at best. A scam can be sustainable mathematically. Just because it can be sustained mathematically (i.e. does NOT pay out more than it takes in) does NOT prove it is not a scam.
While the original charge of being mathematically unsustainabe is one way to prove a scam, defeating that ONE argument proves just that ONE argument is flawed.

However, there is a very fundamental way of analyzing the input / output idea. In any business, for a business to be sustainable, income must be greater than expenses. What was left is "profit". To do this, you calculate the maximum income, vs. maximum expenses, and make sure the numbers are "profitable", to the order of say, a reasonable margin of 25%, before deducting for clerical expenses (alleged office, alleged employees, phones, website hosting, programmers, and so on, plus executive team salaries).  That should leave a "healthy" profit. This is an assumption, but I trust, a reasonable one.

So what are the sources of TVI Express INCOME? So far I only see two completely reliable sources: the $250 membership fee, and the recently added $150 "processing fee and taxes", that is "per member". We will have to make another assumption here... As the 150 was added only at June 2010, we will assume average member paid $300 (remember, the earlier ones did NOT pay the $150, I'm just estimating, and I believe I am generous), and we will assume there is a million members. It is a nice round number.

So the income, so far, of TVI Express, is estimated to be 300 million. It can go up to $400 million, but I believe $300 is a more reasonable number.

What about expenses? That is a bit more difficult to calculate, due to the way the matrix boards work. The first time through, the big payout of $10000 chance is 1 in 225, or less than 0.4%. However, the trick here is you are cycled back into the express board. Still, keep in mind that it still takes every member in the express board 14 people from the traveler board to push them "up", so the "re-entry" does not actually affect the calculations.

I believe we can agree that TVI Express has FOUR expenses: big board payout, small board payout, the trips, and the clerical / facility expenses. The last one we've estimated earlier to be a reasonable 5-10% range, but it could go higher. We'll estimate the ones we know first.

Big board payout is 1 million members divided by 225 * $10000 = 44,444,444

Small board payout is 1 million members divided by 15 * $500 = 33,333,333

The trips is going to be more complicated. How much is the 7-day 6-night trip for two worth? This gets complicated until you look up similar trips offered by other companies... And  the answer is... about $400. (Go ahead, price it yourself using whatever booking engine you prefer, even TVI Express's backoffice, which is just Travelocity)

1000000 members * 400 = $400 million.

Total expenditure (excluding housekeeping, such as salary, taxes, office, etc.) is in excess of 477 million.

As we have just estimated that TVI Express income with 1 million members is about $300 million, clearly the expenses have outstripped income... By over 50%.

Ah, but you ask, could I have overestimated the trip costs? It is certain possible. Let's assume 25% discount... $300 million. That's still expenses of $378 million (rounded up). NOT ENOUGH.

I am sure the critics of this math exercise can continue to tweak the variables until they claim they *have* reached an equilibrium, where income balance expenses, but the numbers will NOT be realistic. Remember, we have yet to account for salary, office, and other expenses, or even a PROFIT for the company.

The only way TVI Express can continue to operate is by cheating the joiners out of those trips, which is their MAJOR source of expense. They have done so throughout their company history, by making the process as difficult as possible, always blaming the problem on one delay of upgrade vs. another, and finally they decided to add the $150 "processing fees and taxes" to see if they can just pull even.

Even TVI Express announcements only admit to "thousands" having enjoyed the trips, and they have NEVER published verifiable numbers on how many people have enjoyed those trips.

What if they only gave trips to 50% of the people who joined? Expenses falls to 150 + 78 = 228 million, now they are profitable, assuming income of 300 million. Not very much so, as there's still salary and so on, but you can see that the MORE trips they withhold, the more money they make.

So there you go. Mathematical proof that TVI Express is a scam... its business model only loses money. It relies on deception, and NOT giving out what it promised.

And everybody who claims otherwise is using funny math.

TVI Express supporters makes unsubstantiated claims of legitimacy... again

Increasemymonthlyincome.com, a.k.a. travelventuresinternational.net, ran by two TVI Express members, continue to push the scam despite being served a "cease and desist" letter in state of Georgia.

Their most recent announcement went as far as claiming a US convention in January 2011, and US call center in 2012 (located in Florida).  (see link)

Then they claimed that no less than THREE lawfirms (up from just 1 named before in Utah) is working on how to make TVI Express complaint with US laws.

However, a lot of the statements are just plain... weasel. Here are the problems.

1) No such announcement of US convention was available on TVI Express website. So it is NOT an official announcement or an official convention.

2) No such listing on the community calendar on TVI Express website (embedded Google Calendar). There is NOTHING listed for January 2011. NADA. Thus, it is NOT a community event either.

3) Call center in... FLORIDA? Makes absolutely NO SENSE. American call centers are usually located in the CENTRAL time zone (usually Colorado) so it can provide service to all four timezones (Pacific, Mountain, Central, and Eastern) for maximum hours in all cases. Locating call center in Florida basically cuts service to western regions by nearly half.

4) Putting a call center on US soil means TVI Express would be subject to US law, and there is NO WAY TVI Express can comply with US Federal law (FTC regulations) regarding network marketing and keep the present package. You'd have to tear down the whole thing and start over.

5) In one post the call center is coming in 2012. In a different post they claim it is coming in 2011. What is going on? Can they even get their own facts straight?

6) They never bothered to name the lawfirms referenced. The source of the original claim that the Utah lawfirm was retained came from an upline, and CANNOT be corroborated by any other evidence. Reliability of such information is low.

7) They weasel out of their claim of convention by stating it is subject to change. HELLO! January is only a few months away!

Based on the statements on their own website, and history of lies told by various TVI Express supporters, esp. Tarun Trikha, the reliability of the announcement is low to none.

The "club" argument debunked... again

Some TVI Express shills are still hanging on by their fingernails by claiming TVI Express is a "club", like AAA Auto Club, that provides benefits to people, and company wants to make you rich if you refer a lot of people to it. So it's a "business".

First of all, what is the business model of a "club"? A club charges members dues every month (or whatever period is good) and in return provides benefits to its members (presumably at a cost lower than the membership dues received, so it can earn a net profit). A travel club can use the membership list to get discounts from actual travel providers as well as market to the members services and discounts that cost additional money. AAA's real money maker is actually insurance. Golf clubs charge dues to keep up the golf course and makes money at the pro shop for the balls, clubs, and other equipment.

There are "clubs" like supermarket and bookstore clubs that basically wants to give you discount in return for your personal information and purchase history tracking. They don't need membership fee because the benefits they give you cost them very little, but the potential increase in sales more than offsets the discounts they give.

TVI Express doesn't charge per month, just a one-time fee of $250 + whatever. And for that $250, you supposedly get discounted trips through the travel portal, and the 7-day 6-night hotel accomodations somewhere and half the price of ticket. In reality, the travel portal, relabeled Travelocity obtained through wctravel.com, is worth ZERO, since it is virtually identical to Travelocity. It offers no additional savings. The trip itself is nearly impossible to redeem, all the announced hotels are in India, and now costs extra $150 USD "processing fees and taxes" to redeem. Thus, the $250 membership is NOT worth $250 at all. It is worth practically NOTHING.

It's like mail ordering an "exotic African musical wind instrument", and getting a plastic vuvuzela out of the box. It is perfectly accurate: it is African, it is a wind musical isntrument, and it is exotic, but it's worthless.

And here's the really troubling part... the "matrix cycler".

Let's say I tell you that you can make $1000 if you can convince 50 people each to pay $50 for a plastic vuvuzela. Would you do it? If I say if you only convince 10, you get your $50 back?

That's exactly what TVI Express had done. Offering something that's worthless, charge you money, and tell you that you can make the money back, and much more, if you drag a LOT of people buying the same worthless stuff.

And that is the very definition of a pyramid scheme, albeit slightly disguised by a WORTHLESS benefit package.

TVI Express Timeline published

Now you really know what happened where and when about TVI Express...

TVI Express Timeline is now available on Hubpages
http://hubpages.com/hub/TVI-Express-Timeline-what-really-happened-when-and-where

And guess who's the first commenter? Mr. Matthew Neer, who was usually regarded as a TVI Express supporter!

Hey KSChang,
Great article you put together here. You have really done your research and I value your opinion. People really do need to be made aware of this timeline because I STILL get calls from people asking me about TVI Express and how to join.
I usually just tell them to run far far away, but hey, what can ya do. People will be people...
So he's NOT supporting TVI Express? Heh?

Classic TVI Express Member Lies

Today, we present another set of classic TVI Express lies. Previously, we found a letter from Mr. Goyal, that claims TVI Express was related to a glass factory in Italy, and a casino/resort in England. What sort of lies will we find this time?  The original in Chinese, dated May 23 2009, is at http://xiecheng51.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!FB3360FAB196CDAE!146.entry but I'll just translate it for you...

TVI快车--其合法性

TVI Express and its legitimacy

公司合法,手续齐全,因为涉及出国不归等政治因素,旅游公司的设立必须符合国际惯例,其上千万的注册资金需求以及数百万质量保证金要求就让很多人望而却步,而且成立旅游公司不是任何人都可以为之!
Company is legal, and all necessary steps are complete. Due to involvement in travel and other political factors, establishing a travel company must conform to international common practices, and tens of thousands must be invested for registration, and millions must be put up in performance bonds, which will discourage most people. Establishing a travel company is not something that can be done by anybody!

TVI Express gives better deals to Indians

Look at the TVI Express announcement itself as of 20-JUN-2010:
Cost per booking voucher is USD 150 globally, however for Indian and Indonesian market the voucher cost is as given below:
  • Booking Voucher Cost in India: INR 5,500
  • Booking Voucher Cost in Indonesia: IDR 1,450,000
Let's use today's exchange rate as of 19-AUG-2010:

USD 150 = 1344000 IDR = 6952.5 INR

So folks in India are enjoying a like 25% discount.  (less than USD 119 instead of USD 150) Look through exchange rate history shows that the rate did not change that much, so it is clear: TVI Express is preferring Indian members.

Even Indonesian members got gibbed. They are paying USD 162. And the Indonesia Rupee against dollar actually ROSE (instead of 9000-9050 Rupees per dollar, it's down to about 8950 Rupees) so it is NOT exchange rate related. They are paying 9% surcharge for no particular reason.
  • FACT: TVI Express prefers Indian members (see above)
  • FACT: TVI Express claims to be only subject to Indian and Cyprus law (see their disclaimer)
  • FACT: TVI Express have actual verified office in India, but NOT in UK (or Cyprus)
  • FACT: TVI Express is officially registered as a business in India, but not in UK
  • FACT: TVI Express first presidential level distributor, Tarun Trikha, is from India, and operates in India
CONCLUSION: TVI Express is an INDIAN company, not a UK company

TVI Express supporters: you are backing the wrong horse!

Kyle Clouse was so hot on TVI Express, he actually issued press release in October 2009 claiming he will have one of the largest TVI Express groups in a year.
"Clouse has combined his years of network marketing expertise with the TVI Express model and is currently building one of the largest TVI business organizations worldwide."
Note the contact info at the end: kyleclouse.com
Guess what you will find at that website now? NOT A SINGLE GOOD WORD ABOUT TVI EXPRESS. Go look yourself. But plenty of good words about a competitor. And what did he say about TVI Express?
"Other companies such as TVI Express have encountered numerous problems with board splitting and loosing leaders and members in down lines." The opportunity he's pushing supposedly has no such problems.

"________ also hosts the company’s business presentation webinars and is available to answer questions.  He comes with 12 years of experience in both the travel and network marketing industry.  _____ also leads with a high level of integrity."  For comparison, TVI Express webinars are held by "leaders" that are NOT part of corporate structure, company has zero verifiable history in anything, and by implication, no integrity.
"________ is based in the US and is 100% compliant with all FTC and Attorney General Guidelines for network marketing. " The implication is TVI Express is NOT compliant with anything.
Too bad Mr. Clouse can't just come out and admit that he made a mistake and backed the wrong horse. But his tone is unmistakable: TVI Express cannot be trusted.

Some MORE lies from TVI Express members

This is a letter, published by TVI Express downline in Taiwan, was dated June 2009. It allegedly came from a Mr. Goyal, their TVI Express upline from India. The problem is this letter is in Chinese, which was translated from original English. So retranslating it back to English is going to sound silly, but the general meaning should be clear. You can read the whole thing here, I'll just pick out some of the more egregious lies...

The background of the company is very strong, includes a financial management company with over 50 years of history, a glass product factory in Italy, and casino / resort in England. It has enjoyed leadership position in travel industry for many years. In late June, a main office will open in New Delhi, India. In July office will open in Hong Kong, and Shenzhen China.
As we all know, there still is no office in Hong Kong, no office in China. Nobody ever found out what "financial management company", the casino/resort, or glass factory in Italy that they may be referring to. In fact, these supposedly ties were never mentioned anywhere else.

We (and you) must join this enterprise in the pre-launch phase. This is the key to our future success. In any MLM, only those who join at the very beginning, can earn big money. This business is completely global (over 50 countries around the world), and cooperates with an internationally known related business.
The problem here is they are telling you the truth... ONLY the early joiners will make money, that for sure. But what they mean by global is they have MEMBERS in 50+ countries.
基本投資金額不高,只須新台幣9,500元、19000元或是28500元,全看個人的需要。
Basic investment is low, only NTD 9500, or 19000, or 28500, depending on individual needs.

NOTE: 9500 is joining once. 19000 is joining twice, and 28500 is joining four times. 9500 NTD is roughly $290 USD, the standard "TVI Express" membership + some fees.
The best thing is 80% of your initial investment will be returned in a few weeks, and you can get many benefits, such as free 5-day trip to Banghkok (including all tax, plane ticket, 5-star hotel accommodations, and meals, absolutely no extra expenses)
Includes meals? Only 80% return?
TVI Express提供給你的福利沒有任何灌水,也不會隱瞞、限制或誤導顧客,一切都是透明化的。
TVI Express benefits to you is not inflated, and there is nothing hidden, restricted, or misleading. Everything is transparent.
We all knew how *this* promise turned out.

The 5-star hotel? Turned into 3-5 stars.
Meals? What meals?
Redemption? Impossible to do so until June 2010, 12 months later.
No extra expense? Includes all taxes? Try $150 for "taxes and processing fees"

What lies are TVI Express members telling now in order to score a few more recruits?

TVI Express: banks alongside Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda?

TVI Express was so eager to explain why they list a Cyprus address as their official address (even though it still claims to be "headquartered in London UK", despite not having any office in London), they have a whole webpage explaining why.

But here's a bit of history you may not have realized about Cyprus...

Did you know that Osama Bin Laden, world's most wanted man, leader of Al Qaeda, funneled money through Cyprus?

"Bin Laden's organization kept bank accounts in Cyprus" -- Cyprus Mail

"South Cyprus -- haven for money laundering en route to EU" -- Turks.us
Bin Laden, Milosovic, and Russian Mafia are just some who had laundered money through Cyprus

"A Tramp Freighter's Money Trail to Osama Bin Laden" -- New York Times
Bin laden's lieutenants setup front companies on Cyprus to own various ships, purpose unknown

The charges are serious enough that UN officially asked the Central Bank of Cyprus to issue some orders to other banks on Cyprus to look for links to Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, and so on.

TVI Express deletes own annoucement to cover up its own problem

TVI Express decided to rewrite history, by removing one of their own announcements from their website.

In February 2010, TVI Express put up an announcement that they are implementing a new booking engine, and it should go online March 1st, 2010. Here's an excerpt:
Monday, February 01 2010

Dear Members,

We are pleased to announce the launch date of our much awaited standalone booking portal on 1st March, 2010. The initial booking system we launched couldn't support booking requests of masses and hence, laid the foundation for the development of a fully online booking system to ensure speedy processing.

Then in March 2010, they released another message that says the rollout isn't working.
Friday, March 05, 2010

Dear Members,

This is to inform you that our product fulfilment booking engine due to be launched on 1st March 2010 will take a few more days to go live as the integration of inventory for some of our Channel Partners has taken longer than expected...
Cited from http://www.tviexpressreviewblog.com/tvi-express-booking-engine-update/
However, if you now look on the TVI Express website, under announcements, the March 05, 2010 message is NO LONGER THERE. However, that message has been cloned by various TVI Express clone sites, by helpful TVI Express members.

If you do an analysis of the announcement page, you realize that the REAL announcement page is is actually

http://www.tviexpress.com/announcement1.php?id=XX

Where XX is the announcement ID. For example, here's the link to the announcement that the booking engine will be up on March 1st, 2010.

http://www.tviexpress.com/announcement1.php?id=52

Yet the next announcement, about TVI Express India, dated March 22, 2010, is id 62!

http://www.tviexpress.com/announcement1.php?id=62

What happened to announcements 53-61? If you punch in those ID's, you'll get "announcement expired".

So, TVI Express can "expire" announcements that makes itself look bad, and leave only those announcements that make itself look good. Is that what a reputable company would do?

Also makes you wonder, what are in the announcements 53-61 that we don't know about?

Keep in mind that there is no specific announcement that the booking engine is functional. Yet by deleting the announcement dated March 5th, 2010, which did NOT specify a time when the engine will be up and running, TVI Express gave the impression that the engine was functional since March 1st, 2010!

Folks, no matter how you spin this, this is NOT what a reputable company would do. If they made a mistake in announcing the March 5th, 2010 outage, just put up another announcement "sorry, it's never really broken". By actually DELETING the announcement, they made it appear as if they have SOMETHING TO HIDE!

Another marketing coach calls TVI Express a scam

You can read his article here:  http://www.articlesphere.com/Article/Expert-TVI-Express-Scam-Analysis/214286 and it comes with a warning:
For those of you residing in the United States and/or Canada, and possibly other countries but I only speak on what I'm certain of, there is a well documented history of distributors getting held lawfully responsible for involvement in an illegal pyramid. Even if you had the best of intentions, realize that TVI Express resides in the UK so if the powers that be are going to go after anybody, it will be the top earnings earners here locally.
In other words, you can be held LIABLE under LOCAL laws for running a pyramid scheme, esp. those of you who got the "big payout"!
