Back in October 2010, when Bank of Namibia declared TVI Express a pyramid scheme, reaction was swift among the locals. Excerpts here are some of the reaction to local newspapers, and my comments (in blue)

IS it not better to allow us the 52 per cent unemployed to continue make a living honourably through network marketing rather than to legalise prostitution?

But what proof is there that TVI Express is actually network marketing? Or for that matter, Holiday and Cash? They CLAIM to be, but are they really? 

What does it market besides itself? I don't know anything about Holiday and Cash, but it sounds like exactly the same thing. 

HELLO BoN Mr (Ipumbu) Shiimi and Mr (Ndangi) Katoma do you know than Donald Trump, together with Dolf de Rose, are the board members of Holidays and Cash? Are you also aware that Holidays and Cash is operating in 105 countries?

No proof of such link can be found any where on Google. Even alleged Holiday and Cash websites no longer has anything related to Donald Trump. This is likely a lie, or misunderstanding, similar to the one perpetrated by TVI Express about Warren Buffett and Sir Richard Branson. 


As for number of countries, that in no way proves any sort of legitimacy. Illegal drugs are in every country of the world. So? 

(TRADE) Minister Hage (Geingob) please help us TVI is not a pyramid scheme. Ask TVI people to present it to you. Help us. The BoN wants us to suffer while they are getting richer. Please help.

Ask those in the scam to prove it's not a scam? That's really funny. This basically gets into "us vs them" and "conspiracy" tactics of the cults. 

BANK of Namibia as a member of H & C I am expecting you to withdraw your press release as soon as possible. I want to work for my child’s varsity fees for next year. You are wasting my time and pushing me back into poverty. BoN stole my financial freedom; I want it back big-time. BoN was sleeping only to wake up now just to jump on the wrong side. So it is the authorities fault for wanting to stamp out fraud, because you do not want to be saved. 

BON or Mr Ndangi Katoma be reasonable and think twice before you take TVI to the newspapers. Why don’t you meet this big giant and hear the best-ever concept in business that every Namibian needs to block the poverty and help themselves. This is not a pyramid scheme as you claim. In Namibia we need this kind of of business that benefits everyone, even a poor person can become a wealthy person. So do good research and apologise to the whole nation.

Clearly, these folks never heard about the cases in China, where perps of TVI Express were arrested and JAILED for running a pyramid scheme, back in 2009. A year later, they still don't believe TVI Express is a scam. 





As you can see, mass denial runs deep. It is a symptom of cognitive dissonance.

Some morons revived zombie TVI Express "news" long expired

Got some people here that still think TVI Express is a good deal, except the site they link to doesn't even promote TVI Express any more!

As you can see, the guy copied the question and comments from somewhere else, since "Pete" appeared both in the comments and the article itself. (you'll have to go to the page to see for yourself) so the dates are all "zombie revived".

Furthermore, the URL given, http://tviexpress.co.za, now forwards to a World Ventures website. That is no surprise because tviexpress.co.za was run by TVI Power Team, the team that jumped ship when it realized that TVI Express was a scam even BEFORE the investigations got started. So they took TVI out of their name.

Morons.

Hey, some virus site stole my blog description!

If you look at the top of this page, you'll see that my blog description reads:

"TVI Express scam exposed, lies busted, truth revealed. What TVI Express and members do NOT want you to know. No marketing, no recruiting,... "

So what is my description doing on a website that may be harmful to computers?

TVI Express Spam hits... Yacht site

Actually, in this case, it looks like some moron decided to create "topic sites" by slavishly copying all the articles from the "content farms" that seem to have SOMETHING to do with their topic.

The result is something VERY much out of place: "TVI Express" in a website about yachts.

Does TVI Express have ANYTHING to do with yachts at all? TVI Express claims to give away a yacht (no details) as an incentive (along with a villa and luxury cars) if you can cycle out several times (by repeatedly filing your matrix with recruits without selling anything). It is a pyramid scheme.

Clearly, this "yacht site" is a content farm.

TVI Express Spam Hits Poetry Site

There's an Indonesia "Poetry Cafe" that was hit by TVI Express spamticle, with random "Tiffany Ring" keyword spam links inserted. The article was also "rewritten" with random synonyms. It reads like a joke, and it is.

Who the Heck is Tom McMurrain and Why Was He Pushing TVI Express?

A website called "Secrets2Business" have an article on TVI Express.

But who wrote it? A guy named Tom McMurrain, who wrote a book "From ExCon to ExCaliber".

Both websites linked are dead. So who the heck is Thomas E. McMurrain? Turns out, he really is an ex-Convict. What did he went to jail for? Running a Ponzi Scheme... just like TVI Express. Here's the report:

THOMAS E. MCMURRAIN, 37, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, pleaded guilty today to four counts of a federal indictment on charges of mail fraud and wire fraud. ...
Between 1997 and the end of October 2000, MCMURRAIN obtained over $9,000,000 from 80 investors. In the end, the vast majority of the investors received only monthly interest payments which totaled $1,600,000 over 1997-2000. MCMURRAIN only paid back about $200,000 in principal. The remaining investors never received their principal back.
MCMURRAIN never disclosed to investors that his pay day loan operations were running at a loss. Nor did he disclose that he was using their monies to invest in any other non-pay day loan operations, including loans totaling $700,000 to other MCMURRAIN's companies, as well as uncollateralized loans to friends and acquaintances without collateral. Additionally, MCMURRAIN did not disclose to lenders that he spent and lost $600,000 of their monies on personal day trading and expended another $700,000 on personal life style purchases.

Name matches, crime matches, even the self-reference to "Ex-Con" matches. And if you still doubt it, here's the indictment archived on someone else's website

On October 12, 2005, Thomas E. McMurrain was sentenced in federal district court in Atlanta, Georgia, to 87 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $7,500,000. McMurrain was convicted of mail fraud and wire fraud related to a loan fraud scheme. McMURRAIN pleaded guilty to the charges on May 12, 2005. 

Assuming he started serving the sentence in 2005, and serve half of 87 months for good behavior and early release, half of 87 is still 43 months, or over 3 and a half years... That would make his release in... 2009 or so.

So he immediately joined TVI Express, a very obvious pyramid scheme 8-ball scam...

Guess a leopard really can't change its spots.
