Indonesia TVI Express Supporter Avoided the News, and Made a Fool of Himself

Yesterday, a comment, "YesIndo" posted the following comment on my Hubpages Hub
yesindo 29 hours ago
Honestly, I do not really know the TVI Express situation in other countries.
However, TVI Express in Indonesia is booming and even got International Good Company award from Coordinating Minister of People Welfare & also from Minister of Culture & Tourism of Republic Indonesia. This event published in an Indonesian monthly magazine "Global Invest" 7th edition. You should buy it so you can probably waste another time to make good insult of it.
It is also mentioned in the magazine that TVI Express listed legally and already have license from Indonesian Govenment.
This is a proof that your comment about legal issue in Indonesia do not updated or maybe you have not done your researches well enough. This make me think twice about your other comments. Are they all true or maybe just 10% true? Can we call kschang a scam too?.. by making wrong comment regarding TVI Express legal issue in Indonesia ...
As YesIndo simply accepted the award at its value, it's clear that he wasn't aware of the fact that Indonesian newspaper consider the award to be scam, as one only needs to pay to "win". The award itself is worthless, as it was explained clearly on this very blog (and on Kaskus forum)
There's no doubt that the award ceremony took place. However, simple investigation would tell you that nobody CARES about this award, as it's a common scam to issue such awards and earn "processing fees" around the world. In Botswana they have such a thing as "Bizz Awards" that local companies can "win"... by contributing a significant sum of money. When Botswana TVI Express proponents tried to claim legitimacy of this award on a radio show, I sent a link to the radio show's host, and he's the one who saw the similarity to his local scam.

As for "license from Indonesia government", that was REVOKED on August 3rd, 2011.

Thus, I updated my information quite correctly, and it is YesIndo who did not update his information properly.

And he thought he was correcting me, hah! People are getting ARRESTED for being in TVI Express in Indonesia! Get that through your thick head, YesIndo! Before it's too late!

Botswana Continues to Roast TVI Express "believers"

8-ball pyramid scheme model.Image via WikipediaRecently Consumer Watchdog of Botswana (though Mmegi Online) published another comment from deluded TVI Express followers:
Following my comments on the TVI Express pyramid scheme recently I got this email:
"I have two questions: First; in business, do you buy only a product as a consumer? Second; why did the author not mention that some members of TVI are successful? Was it deliberate or was it through ignorance? Do not criticise systems that you are not a member of. You would be more convincing if you joined TVI and became a failure. Remember, many people have invested in 'genuine' businesses, and have failed. Inference, therefore, every business is a scam"
Where should I begin?
In business, no, you also buy services as well as products. But with TVI Express they don't offer either. All they offer is the chance to make money from recruiting other people. That's a pyramid scheme.
Why didn't I mention "that some members of TVI are successful"? Because the ones at the top only make money by cheating other people. I criticise burglars and thieves for the same reason.
So I'm not qualified to criticise a pyramid scheme until I've joined it and had my money stolen? That's just silly. I don't need to jump out of a plane without a parachute to know it's a bad idea. I don't need to burn cash to know it's a bad idea. I don't need to commit a crime and go to prison to know that it's a bad idea. I don't need to have joined the TVI Express pyramid scheme and lost money to know that it's a bad idea.
So because TVI victims lose money and so do some investors in real businesses, then all businesses are a scam?
I really hope you have nothing to do with the education of children.

Consumer Watch Botswana Did Radio Show on TVI Express, still no proof of legitimacy

http://consumerwatchdogbw.blogspot.com/2011/08/on-air-with-tvi-express.html
I had a very amusing experience on radio this morning. After last week's coverage of the TVI Express pyramid scheme, when I reported on it being illegal in Namibia, Georgia, Indonesia and under aggressive investigation in South Africa and Australia, some of the local TVI Express people were very cross indeed and demanded a right of reply.
So they got one this morning. However given that what I'd said was entirely true, their right of reply wasn't unconditional. I was there this morning to respond to some of their comments.
They genuinely seemed confused about what they wanted to say. They described themselves at various points as "investors"and then "not investors", "employees", "directors", "distributors" and "members" of TVI Express.
At one point one fo them said that the Bank of Namibia was considering changing their ban in Namibia but changed the subject quickly when two of us pointed out that we'd contacted the Bank who had denied any such thing...

NEWSFLASH: Botswana TVI Express recruiter/victim admits guilt of recruiting others

Mmegi Online reports a story of a TVI Express recruiter who actually SIGNED A CONTRACT promising MONEY BACK if it didn't work out. Obviously, he didn't get his money.

http://www.mmegi.bw/index.php?sid=4&aid=752&dir=2011/August/Friday5

...To their credit, the couple who had recruited her had the backbone to come along and offer their side of the story. They didn't deny anything, they acknowledged that her story was accurate. They now realise, like everyone else, that TVI is a pyramid scheme and they've lost money as well on their get rich quick scheme. They've assured us that the reader will get all of her initial investment back very soon. However, it's more than just the money. Our reader feels ashamed because of what's happened. She's not stupid, she's a confident, assertive and intelligent young woman who can only be accused of naivete. But she was tearful when she was with us, considering the distress this has caused and how embarrassed she was about falling for this scam. I wonder how many people are falling for scams like TVI Express and are too ashamed to come forward?
Are you one of those too stupid to realize the scam? Or are you just too ashamed to come forward?

A bit more of the story can be had here as well:

Botswana Consumer Watchdog reminds authorities TVI Express still NOT outlawed in that country

Consumer Watchdog of Botswana reminds the public that despite investigations in various nearby countries, including South Africa where arrests have been made, and Namibia declared TVI Express illegal, Botswana authorities have yet to do anything substantial against TVI Express inside the borders of Botswana.

Botswana Consumer Watchdog summary on TVI Express Scam

http://www.bes.bw/ConsumerWatchdog.html

Some facts about TVI Express

There are simply too many things wrong with TVI Express. Yes, of course it's a pyramid scheme but there's more, so much more.

The reward mechanism
For a very full analysis of TVI see here. It includes details of the special introductory rewards you allegedly receive, but in fact you have to pay "processing fees and taxes" before you see any of them.

Others have commented that the pyramid mechanism itself is flawed and success unachievable.

The stupid vouchers
Yes, the vouchers really are stupid. To begin with they're worthless. Instead of spending serious money joining to get them why not buy similar vouchers much more cheaply?

Their membership?
It's also alleged that their membership list that scrolls on the right side of their web site is static, it never changes. This does seem to be the case.

Fictitious "partners"
TVI distributors have claimed that companies Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa, Avis and Marriott were their "partners". This is simply a lie.  Apparently Lufthansa and Avis sued TVI Express to stop them saying this.

Where are they?
TVI give their address in the UK as
"Lakeside House, 1 Furzeground Way, Stockley Park, Heathrow UB11 1BD"
Heathrow is NOT in the UB11 postcode, which refers to Uxbridge. Heathrow is in the TW6 postcode area.

Previously they claimed to be based in an office in central London, only for it to be discovered that they weren't know at the address they gave.

They now claim to be based in an office in Cyprus but the same thing has happened again. There are reports that the address they give (Louki Akrita 14, Agiazoni, P.C. 3030, Limassol, Cyprus) is also shared with other companies.

Their UK phone number only goes through to an automated answering service, that says, when I last called, that I would be answered after 46 minutes.

They're under suspicion
  1. •A number of TVI Express distributors have been arrested in China and charged with operating a pyramid scheme.
  2. •Indonesian authorities are on the case.
  3. •They are under investigation in Hungary.
  4. •And in India

Don't deal with them.  They’re a pyramid scheme.
