Why can't I concentrate on what needs to be done?

Whenever I sit down in front of a computer, there's bazillion things that call out to me, very few of them that have to do with what needs to be done by me.

I was reading about ADHD symptoms in adults and some of them does describe me pretty well, but again, you can't self-diagnose ADHD.

Strangely, one of the treatments, Ritalin, is actually considered a stimulant, but it seems to have calming effect on certain ADHD patients.

I don't know, maybe I can ask my doc to prescribe me a small dose for a week or two and see what happens?
